Gatseau beach
Surrounded by a magnificent pine forest, Gatseau beach is always in the news. It is supervised in summer, ideal for families with children. It’s one of the few south-facing beaches on the Atlantic coast. The beach is served by the P’tit train de
La Plage de la Giraudière (Grande Plage de Saint-Trojan-les-Bains)
Awarded the Blue Flag label, this beach stretches over 3 km and is supervised during the summer. A naturist zone is located to the south of the beach. It is home to a sand yacht school and a surf school. The spot is renowned for its long, easy-to-surf waves. To get there, take the forest road to the right (D126 E1) or the cycle path. In summer, free shuttles and electric tuk-tuk buses provide easy access.
The little beach
Facing east and protected from westerly winds, this family-friendly beach is ideal for clam fishing during high tides. There’s a diving board and FFV sailing school nearby. In July and August, a ferryboat takes you to La Tremblade.
The sun beach
Located along the Manson promenade , opposite Ronce-les-Bains, this small family beach faces south and offers a peaceful atmosphere. It starts at the sailing school and ends at Pointe de Manson. Please note that the beach is small and strongly tidal.
Maumusson beach
At the south-western tip of the island of Oleron, on the wild coast, Maumusson beach offers breathtaking scenery. Swimming here is dangerous due to strong currents. Inaccessible by road, it can be reached via the Grande Plage forest paths, or in a more picturesque way, aboard the P’tit train de Saint-Trojan (terminus).
